The situation becomes more complicated when the elder Carson suddenly decides to remarry and brings his new wife, Lucy, home. Lucy immediately antagonizes her young stepson, Bob. When Bob refuses to marry Blanche, his stepmother discovers his secret affair with May. Lucy then uses this information to cause further trouble within the family dynamics.
