His insecurity deepens with the arrival of Komar, an educated urbanite who quickly gains the villagers' admiration. Unbeknownst to Sayuti, Komar and his comrade Malik are actually resistance fighters operating undercover within the Japanese ranks to steal weapons. When Sayuti impulsively decides to prove his worth by attacking the occupiers directly, his reckless heroism threatens to blow the cover of Komar's carefully planned operation.
