After her boyfriend, cellist Yuji (Arthur Kuroda), was taken away by a classmate, Marie takes a leave of absence from music college and begins receiving treatment. Around that time, Marie met Kiriko (Yuko Tanaka), who worked at the same factory. Marie felt a strange attraction to Kiriko, a mysterious woman she had only spoken to a few times.
