Cuelgamuros, Between the Difficult and the Impossible

Cuelgamuros, Between the Difficult and the Impossible (2026) is a documentary directed by Belén Alonso Fernández-Pacheco rated 9.0/10.

For the first time a recording is made of the Cuelgamuros crypts, hidden behind the walls of the basilica chancels. There, more than 33,800 people are buried in Spain's biggest mass grave. We enter with the forensic team who, since 2023, have been trying to locate and identify 214 of them. We will discover surprising findings and hear the harsh criticism, denunciations and bureaucracy facing them after taking on a historical challenge that they themselves believed to be impossible.
