He first built a cult online following in the mid-2000s with Limmy’s World of Glasgow, a darkly funny audio podcast paired with Flash animations on his website. This early digital success showcased his offbeat humour and distinct narrative voice, leading to his breakthrough into television. In 2010, Limmy’s vision found a broader audience with the launch of Limmy’s Show! on BBC Scotland. The sketch series, created, written, directed, and performed almost entirely by Limmy himself, ran for three acclaimed series and a Christmas special. It blended absurd characters, Glasgow-specific satire, and self-aware monologues, earning two BAFTA Scotland Awards and becoming a cult favourite. His television follow-ups included Limmy’s Homemade Show!
