Birthplace: Kishoreganj, East Pakistan (now Bangladesh)

Nuton was born as Farhana Amin Ratna in Kishoreganj, East Pakistan (now Bangladesh). She was a dance from Kishoreganj and debuted in the film Nuton Probhat in 1969 and take the title role as her screen name. She then acted in several nationwide recognized films - Ora 11 Jon (1972), Boshundhora (1976), Rupali Shaikate (1977), Rajlokkhi Srikanto, Strir Paona (1991). She married film producer and director Ruhul Amin Babul in 1978. For her excellent acting in the film Strir Paona, She received Bangladesh National Film Award in Best Supporting Actress category.
