Capaldi rose to fame with his 2017 single "Bruises" and achieved global success with "Someone You Loved," which topped charts in the UK and US, earned a Grammy nomination, and became one of the most-streamed songs on Spotify. His debut album Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent (2019) was the UK’s best-selling album of the year, followed by his chart-topping second album Broken by Desire to Be Heavenly Sent (2023). Despite his success, Capaldi has been open about his struggles with anxiety and Tourette's syndrome, leading to a touring hiatus after a challenging Glastonbury 2023 performance.
