Alia "Ali" Rusu-Tahir is a Moroccan and Romanian actress, born in France and raised throughout Canada. Her mother is an architect and a writer, and her father, a computer science researcher. She is best known for playing Sasha in the psycho-thriller film, Kryptic, which premiered at SXSW 2024. She has also performed in a number of festival short films, most notably Passiflora, a queer love story screened at the Crazy8s Gala. She studied at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, where she received her BFA, and most recently, at Terry Knickerbocker Studio in Brooklyn, New York. Her theatre credits include the premiere of Christina Cook's Postcards to my Younger Transexual Self, Revolt. She Said. Revolt Again, Problem Child, and Seven Minutes in Heaven, among others. Ali is also a musician and a writer.
