Created by Jorge Lozano Soriano, with adaptation by Lila Yolanda Andrade and Carlos Lozano Dana, the telenovela stars María Sorté and Leonardo Daniel. Due to its controversial theme of organ trafficking, the series was shortened to 25 episodes. The story follows María Soler, an actress trapped in an abusive marriage, and Alejandra Monasterio, a wealthy woman dying of terminal cancer. After discovering they are identical despite being unrelated, Alejandra convinces María to assume her identity so she can care for her young son.
